BUBLIK is a stylish media space, well known to the capital’s society, located on Patriarch’s Street. The salon design concept was developed by the owner and founder, Egor. Our task was to concretize the concept and turn it into a finished design project, and most importantly, to realize all of Egor’s ideas. Looking at today's photos of the interior, it's hard to believe that this facility was built from scratch in just a month and a half.

Our task was to concretize the concept and turn it into a finished design project, and most importantly, to realize all of Egor’s ideas. Looking at today's photos of the interior, it's hard to believe that this facility was built from scratch in just a month and a half.
The condition of the premises in the 1906 building left much to be desired.
And, of course, it largely dictated the possibility of choosing certain construction solutions. And in some matters it complicated the task. But stylish and modern space in a building with the status of “historical value” is already a common phenomenon in Moscow. We cleaned and treated with matte varnish the exposed wooden floors. They decided to leave the brick partitions open. But in order to make them presentable, they removed the glossy varnish (“hello”; from the previous tenants of the premises).
Some wall surfaces were locally aged using gypsum plaster. The same material helped us imitate a “concrete-like” coating for the ceiling and, partially, the walls. There was simply no time to use decorative plaster, which we usually use for these purposes - the tight deadlines made themselves felt.
A separate story is engineering communications.
We carried out the wiring on the ceiling using an open method using twisted cable. But leaving everything in this form would be a real blow to the aesthetics of the room. Inspired by the aluminum upholstery on the branded salon furniture, we selected a similar material to create boxes that hide utility lines. Together with Egor, we looked at many metal options, chose the best one and agreed on the cutting.
A month and a half of intensive work, and today the heroes of gossip columns are already walking on this floor, the capital’s majors are reflected in the mirrors, people are sitting in chairs, who then end up in the lenses of street photographers. And under the hashtag #everybody on Instagram, photos appear daily against the backdrop of the very interior that was implemented by our team.
Because it is important for us that the customer shares our philosophy.
Unfortunately, this is not always possible with public spaces - speed and simplicity are a priority, because the spaces are idle, and rent takes a toll on the wallet. Quality becomes secondary - different requirements, different approach. But there are exceptions, such as the Aeroplan cafe on Sadovnicheskaya Street.
The customer has been following us for a long time and relied on quality.
Moreover, he wanted us to do renovations in his existing establishment on Pyatnitskaya, but then, alas, it didn’t work out. But now we are collaborating on two whole objects - the Aeroplan cafe on Sadovnicheskaya, which we will talk about today, and the Yumbaker bakery, which is currently in the process of implementation. The concept was developed by the customer, so there was a clear idea of what we should get at the finish line. But it needed to be adapted to the premises, so the design was carried out in parallel with construction. There was a clear understanding of how the establishment should work, and when all the design decisions were finalized, the main construction work began.
